Tour of Texas - leg 2

Our stop on the tour - HOUSTON! David's sister Casey got married - congrats to Walker and Casey!!! This was Will's first airplane trip. And, he did so well!

The trip started out with a near 7-hour wait at the airport here. There was a HUGE storm just hovering over Houston and they closed the airport. All the kids did amazingly well with the LONG wait -- maybe even better than the adults handled it!!!

Our flight was supposed to leave at 1:10, but finally at 7:15 that evening we were taking off!!
It was a late night and we were worn out! On Saturday the rain was STILL coming down. We stayed at the hotel and played in the salt-water pool.

Will was so exhausted, but it was time to get ready for the wedding. While David and I got showered and dressed, Will fell asleep. We dressed him for the wedding while he was sound asleep!

It was AMAZING!! About an hour before the wedding, the rain completely stopped, and Walker and Casey were able to go ahead with their beautiful outside wedding!

And of course SEVERAL pictures were taken - here are just a few!

And again - sound asleep on the plane ride home!

First weekend of April...Snyder, Texas

David's cousin, Temi, is getting married in June and her bridal shower was this Saturday in Snyder. For those that do not know - when this family gets together it is a large gathering! We have so much fun, but can be quite over-whelming to those there for the first time. We met up with everyone Friday night at the new Belle Opry House for some dancing. Will was in awe just watching the band, and then decided to take a few spins around the dance floor.

The next morning was Temi's shower. She got some BEAUTIFUL things and we all had a great time!

Will had a great time playing with his cousin, Shelby...why do we even buy toys when all they want is a lawn sprinkler, a hill to run up and down, and their Grammy???

Will and his cousin, Jacki, playing in the boat...

P.S. I DETEST my new camera! As you can see I think it takes really bad pictures!! David is returning it as I am writing this to get me another one.

First week of April.....ABC Rodeo

We are busy bees and April is going to be crazy! We have soooo much going on and it all started with the first weekend! On Thursday night, we took Will to the ABC Rodeo. He loved it and was the cutest cowboy there, along with his daddy, of course!!

He loved the bull riding and would yell, "Hold on cowboy!" His next favorite was the bull-dogging where he kept telling us, "He tackled the cow!" The barrel racing was exciting for him, as we sat on the second row with the barrel RIGHT in front of us. Dirt was thrown on us a couple of times, and Will sternly told the horse, "Don't throw dirt!" The roping was his least favorite, but mainly because only 2 successfully roped the calf. So, Will resorted to cheering, "Yeah cow!" when they missed and the cow was roaming free in the arena.

We had a great time and Will is still talking about going to the rodeo!

Indoor activities

We have had some really nice days and it is great to go outside and enjoy them. BUT - this is West Texas AND March, so the wind makes this difficult. One of the best things we have done is buy a membership to the Science Spectrum. Will loves going and it is a great place to go and let him run wild and get out of the house for a while. That is exactly what we did last weekend.

Will's the big boy

While I still like to think of Will as my baby - he knows better. He has grown up so quickly into a little boy! His cousin, Josh (10 months) came over and played. It was while I watched Will interact with Josh that I really saw how he is no longer a baby. My sister-in-law, Josh's mom, even pointed it out. Will would make sure that Josh was holding on in the wagon, or ask if he was okay because he was crying. It made my heart melt to see Will being so considerate of Josh! Then, Will got on his 4-wheeler and took Josh for a ride. It brings tears to my eyes to see that my baby is now a little boy, but I was so happy to see his compassion for Josh. In the video, you can see that Josh is having a blast! But, Will has a huge smile on his face too. It is like he knows that he is the big boy giving the baby a ride!

What a ham!!!

First of all, my weekend away was wonderful!!! Will and his Daddy had a great time and really bonded. Their new "boy" thing to do is watch motorcycle racing together. They are totally engrossed in it, and of course I had to take a picture of them during this new ritual:

A couple of things that I must share...Will's favorite game and his new "trick". His favorite game is Pow! He wants to pow momma and daddy and we have to fall down and can only get up once he kisses us. Now, he wants to be the one to fall down and we have to awaken him with a kiss. Some of his acting is soooo dramatic, that it makes me laugh!!!

I know that Will just turned 2 last month, but sometimes I think he acts like a teenager! I gave him a sucker from his Valentine's Day party at school. He kept trying to bite it. I told him not to bite it, that he needs to lick suckers. HE ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME!!! But - on the upside, he quit trying to bite the sucker. I had to get this on video, because while right now, it is cute - it won't be when he is 15!!!

Wish me luck!

I am taking my FIRST girls' weekend starting today. My mom and I are headed to Austin to see my aunt and do some shopping. I have not gone more than 24 hours without seeing Will, so I am having a really hard time with it all!

I know that he will be just fine with his Daddy, and they will have a blast without me...it is me I am worried about!!!

I need the break and am looking forward to it, and who knows -- they might BOTH miss me!!!
