On the Road Again - Aledo, Texas!

Will's Uncle Lesley and Aunt Carrie bought a new house in Aledo. We decided to go and check it out and watch the Tech and Kansas St. game with them. Their house is gorgeous!!!!

It is just enough outside of town to make Lesley feel as though he is back in West Texas - just a tad. It even comes complete with goats next door!!!

We had a great time visiting with them. Will enjoyed their big backyard, a wonderful park near their house, and of course, a trip to Cabela's.

As you can see from the pictures - I think everyone enjoyed the park!!!

We had a great weekend! Will attended his first Texas Tech game and he loved it. He lasted the entire game!!!!
Will with his guns up!!!

Then, Will got to enjoy his first go cart race with his daddy and cousin, Colton....

Monday, was September the first, and that is Labor Day - but it is known around our house as the first day of dove hunting season. So, daddy insisted that Will go on his first dove hunt:

Our Mini-Family Reunion

I am one of five kids. And now that we are all grown with families of our own it is rare that we get all 5 kids back together again. This weekend was the first time in 2 years!!! My 3 brothers and my dad played in a Father/Son golf tournament on Sunday....it made my dad's entire year - so he bought them all matching shirts!! :)
Layne, Lesley, Dad and Lance.....
It was 2-man teams so dad basically played three rounds of golf. Dad and Lesley tied with Dad and Layne with a 73. Lance and Dad came in with a 76.

We had a cookout at our house on Saturday and celebrated Mom's birthday - I think Will thought the cake and singing was for him:

After the golf tournament on Sunday, everyone gathered at our house for family picture time. We had a great time as you can see:

Lance, Lesley, Layne, Kadee and Kristi

Add in mom and dad:

While the big boys were playing football, the younger boys sat and watched. What a great opportunity to get a picture of all 3 of the grandsons!!!
Kyle, Will and Colton:

And of course Will's activities for the weekend included: Playing with his cousin, Kyle:

Mowing the lawn in his new "tool apron" from Nanny (he refused to take it off all weekend):Playing catch with his daddy:Streaking for Uncle Lesley after his bath:Helping clean up after the big cookout: And tucking his cousin, Josh in for the night:

Leaving Will for the first time

I had a work conference in San Antonio Aug 1-5 and so I had to leave Will for the FIRST TIME EVER!!! I had not spent one single night away from him. Since David's parents live in Spring Branch, we took him there so he would be about 30 minutes from us. It went unbelieveably well! Will did not miss a beat and loved hanging with Papa, Grammy and Devin. His mom on the other hand was missing him! Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

In the car on the way down - Will with his cheetos and Devin with her chips:
Will happy to be with his Grammy:
And yes - we cheated. We didn't last the whole weekend without seeing him. Grammy brought him and Devin over to our hotel to swim:

We had a great time...David got to golf, and we enjoyed ourselves at dinners - just the two of us!!

On the final night, we had a dinner and dance. David joined the band and sang with them:

My new favorite picture

Will has had a blast on the new Ranger that David got. Every single day he says, "Ride!" That is his Daddy's cue to put him on it and go!

On this particular day, they got caught out in a rainstorm. When they got home, both were soaking wet, and Will was laughing and telling me, "Wet!" Once the rain stopped they were back out again!

When they returned, they were completely dry -- hair and all!!!
