Videos of Will

OK - so almost EVERYONE makes fun of how many pictures and videos I have of Will. And, that's okay with me. I know one day we will be so glad to have them all - and hopefully he will be too!!

To date, this has to be one of his funniest videos I have. He was playing with his cousin Lexi, and copied every move and sound she made:

Just to prove that he is ALL boy....he then took Lexi to the floor and was not quitting when she was pinned....his Daddy had to intervene!!!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July weekend. We went to Snyder to see all of David's family. His parents came up from San Antonio too. We had a great time - swimming, the parade, fireworks, and being with all of our family.

Did I forget to mention that Will and his daddy have matching swim suits???

Time has flown by!!!

It has been a LONG time since I have blogged. I will start back with Memorial Weekend.

We went to San Antonio to see David's parents. My parents and our niece, Devin, went with us.
David's dad fixed the kids up with a "redneck hottub". They had a blast!

Will also got to experience the Guadalupe River for the first time:

And another first was not planned. We went to Gruene for the girls to shop. David bravely volunteered to take Will to a shaded place to get something to drink and cool off while I finished shopping. When I was done, I found David, Will, his dad and mine at a biker bar. David swears that this was better for him than shopping with all the girls:

Will has a new cousin, Josh. He was not happy when I tried to hold Josh, but has gotten so much better:

Once we got back, my niece graduated from high school and my brother and his wife came in town. Will loved that they brought Woody the dog with them:

Will also discovered the Science Spectrum. This is the best deal going. We got a 2 person membership for a year for $50. This is nice when it so hot outside, and will be great this winter too:

We had storms almost every night for about 10 days, but it made for really nice evenings to play outside with the neighborhood kids before the rain came:

We took another trip - this time to see Uncle Lesley and Aunt Carrie in Ft. Worth. The highlight of the trip for Will was the stairs at their house:

Since we were gone last weekend, and will be gone again this weekend, my mom was having withdrawals from not seeing Will. So, she came over and played - he loves his Nanny:
I guess that is enough for now. I am sure that I will have more after this weekend. I hope you all have a safe and fun 4th of July!!!!

Chili Cook-off

David entered a chili cookoff for his work. He and his friend/boss built a cooker from scratch just for these types of events. It took them almost 2 years, but they finished just in time for the cookoff:

The weather was great for the cookoff and we had a blast. Will stole the show when he danced in front of the entire crowd for about 5 minutes. I wish I had video of the dance...he was quite the entertainer!!! It was so much fun watching Daddy show his boy off to all the people that he works with...he was so proud, and the matching shirts were HIS idea, not mine!!!

Will had a great time playing with his friend...the theme of the booth was "Margaritaville", so they had a sandbox with a sign that said, "Private Beach" for the boys to play in!

And to top it all off.....David won first place for his chili, and they won first place for booth design....it was a sweep of the competition!!!!

Accident Prone

Now that he is running, he is having more injuries. Here is his carpet-burned nose from falling while kicking a ball at daycare.

Yesterday, I picked Will up from daycare. Heather (his teacher) said, "Will, tell Mama your new word." He just smiled at her. She said, "Tell Mama what your favorite part of the day is." Nothing -- he just grinned at her. Then, he ripped out his pacifier and yelled, "Nack!" Yes, folks - snack is his favorite part of the day!!!!

Then, today, I called to check on him at daycare. I call them everyday around 1:00 so I can see how his morning went, and if he ate a good lunch. When Heather answered, she told me that she had a Will story for me. She said that as soon as the phone rang, she told the other teacher, "I'll bet that's Kristi." She said that Will immediately put his hands up and was looking at the door asking for Mama. She said that she never said mama or Will's mom, just Kristi. So, he apparently knows my first name!!!! Today she said she was trying to teach him to say Heather...so far he just says, "Edder" but she thinks it won't be long!!!

It is stories like this that make our rough nights (like last night) so worth it. Will went to sleep at 8 and was awake at 9 wanting to play. After screaming and throwing a large tantrum to get out of bed, I went in to check on him. He was standing in the corner of his crib hanging onto the rail and crying. As soon as he saw me, he THREW his pacifier across the room. I attempted to rock him twice, and was having to hold him down in my lap as if I were bulldogging a baby calf. On the third attempt, one hour and 35 minutes later, he was "sleeping like a baby." Whoever came up with that term ought to be shot -- they must have never had a baby!!!!

Ft. Worth Trip

We took Will to see Uncle Lesley and Aunt Carrie in Ft. Worth. He had a great time and came home completely worn out! His first activity was playing in Uncle Lesley's boat as soon as we got there:

The next morning we were off to the Ft. Worth zoo. We were warned to get there as soon as it opened at 10 a.m. (Will's normal nap time) He was so tired I thought he would fall asleep while we were waiting for the gate to open:

But as soon as he started seeing the animals he was wide-eyed and bushy tailed!!!!

3 hours and 45 minutes later at the very last exhibit, he couldn't take anymore and he crashed:

He slept for about 30 minutes and woke up to eat a late lunch. Once we were back at Lesley and Carrie's he went down for a nap at 3 and woke up at 5. He was ready for his next adventure...an Easter egg hunt at Carrie's parents' house:

Things are looking up

After a bad start in February, things are much better! We have had a few nice weather days and we take advantage of those. West Texas is windy, and especially in the Spring!!! Will is definitely by "outside" boy -- he loves it. Here he is playing on his 4-wheeler:

Now that we had the time change, we also get to enjoy more daylight in the evening. So, we took Will to the park. His #1 favorite was the slide and a close second were the ducks:

Will also had his first Easter Egg hunt. His daycare had one for all the kids, and he loved it:

He was so glad that his Mama came to see him hunt eggs!!!!!
